Regular lessons are available with the yard's qualified staff, private lessons are available or as part of a small group.
Training Clinics
These are held with Mrs R Morgan. As an accredited trainer of B.S.J.A she brings a high level of experience to the Yard.Training Courses
These mini training courses are held at Killay Fach Farm on a regular basis. There is no better way of learning than for you and your horse to come and join in. Courses are designed for all age groups and is a more "hands on" approach to learning more about care, stable management and equitation. The subjects are all BHS standards and run for 3-4 hours. Stable Management Lessons
- Daily routine, mucking out, bedding, grooming rugs and organisation of tack room.
- Plating and Clipping.
- Tacking up, saddles, tack cleaning and bits & their uses.
- Feeding, watering, digestion, cooling off, roughing off, feed room organisation.
- Care of the foot, shoeing and signs or re-shoeing.
- Brushing boots, fitting, bandages and bandaging.
- Preparing for traveling.
- Health, worms, isolation, sick nursing and TPR.
- Treatment of minor wounds.
- Conformation.
The Riding Lessons
- Position, exercises and changes of rein.
- Horses paces, rhythm and balance, including circles.
- Riding in open order with easy lateral movements.
- Individual dressage tests, practice and ride.
- Pole work and jumping position.
- Riding to a fence correctly, pole to small cross.
- Simple grid-work.
- Advanced grid-word
- Turns and jumping on an angle.
- Mini show jumping course.
